As a real estate manager, you will…

  • Manages existing store portfolio of 1200-1700 locations.
  • Develops comprehensive strategic plan in partnership with regional Real Estate decision-makers and Market Planning to optimize the existing store portfolio and communicate to internal stakeholders.
  • Serves as a liaison to regional Real Estate partners works directly with cross-functional stakeholders including Legal, Market Planning, Store Development Finance, Lease Portfolio Management, Financial Lease Administration, Capital Lease Accounting, Licensed Stores and Operations teams.
  • Collects data, coordinates existing stores market planning process, strategy, and works closely with Real Estate Support Services to execute all aspects of anticipated renewals, non-renewal agreements, remodels, requested relocations/expansions or potential closures.
  • Conducts ad-hoc portfolio analysis and due diligence; compiles integrated market strategy report.
  • Point of escalation working with internal stakeholders for resolution of existing store issues and/or represent the company on local jurisdictional issues

We’d love to hear from people with:

  • 3-5 years of experience with retail or restaurant new store rollout
  • 3-5 years of financial planning and market analysis experience
  • 3-5 years of project management experience within chain store, retail or commercial brokerage
  • 2-3 years of experience with real estate deal-making and negotiations
  • 3 years of previous experience as a real estate rep or equivalent experience

Relationship Management

  • Effective communication and fundamental ability to influence
  • Contributes to the success of a high performing team
  • Ability to prepare and deliver effective presentations

Project Management

  • Intermediate project management skills
  • Understanding of typical project timelines
  • Basic knowledge of budget estimating Data Management
  • Ability to interpret and make fundamental assessments and decisions based on data and reports
  • Fundamental financial and marketing analytics

Real Estate Knowledge

  • Full understanding of industry and real estate best practices and standards
  • Negotiating skills - internal and external
  • Understand lease language, understanding the LOI
  • Market expertise – continuum
  • Preliminary market planning and strategy (application) site selection and planning, owning a market and trade area
  • Communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) – beginning to prepare and present a portfolio review

Store Development Knowledge

  • Experience with industry and Starbucks real estate best practices and standards
  • Solid understanding of store development role in Starbucks’ success
