Shift: Primarily Monday-Friday 2 pm - 10 pm *overtime and weekends as production requires

Coach (automotive parts or gun parts)


Oversee the day-to-day operations of area assigned following guidelines set by Operations and Plant Manager. Ensure that production goals are met, and employees meet all performance expectations including compliance with safety, quality, quantity, and maintenance standards. Use observation skills to identify possible equipment/process failures; maintain equipment and cleanliness of work area. Work in a high-volume manufacturing environment, around chemicals, working with both manual and automated equipment; sometimes in extreme temperatures (heat and cold).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and schedule staff as instructed by Operations Manager. Interview, hire, and oversee training of employees following outlined processes; ensure expectations of position are clearly communicated and understood; make recommendations to Operations Manager regarding employee performance and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Ensure proper work flow to achieve production goals; maintain thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment; notify Operations Manager/appropriate party of maintenance issues, line stoppages, and other matters requiring immediate corrective actions; submit work orders as needed.
  • Maintain and create documentation/reports as needed.
  • Communicate with customers as required to share information, answer questions, and promote customer satisfaction and business development.
  • Ensure that established policies, rules and regulations, and procedures are followed. Make suggestions for process improvement.
  • Shift Coaches oversee day to day operations of the plant in the absence of the Plant and Operations Managers.
  • Complete documentation as required.
  • Wear required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
  • May move/handle hazardous chemicals by following appropriate safety procedures.
  • Cross-train and learn additional skills as needed to assist in meeting production goals.
  • Shall stop production, stop shipments, and/or report all safety, environmental, or quality concerns.
  • Transport and reposition 5-60 pounds (depending on assigned area) of materials/equipment from the ground to waist and at waist level on a routine basis.
  • May be required to work overtime as needed to meet production goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to: a high school diploma; minimum two years of experience supervising others in manufacturing, production or related field (including military) requiring the ability to organize and lead others.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to read and interpret documentation such as safety rules, work process instructions, memos, etc.
  • Basic computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to follow instructions, accept corrections, contribute ideas, and work well as part of a team.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age to work with gun parts.
