Job description

Delta Charter is looking for a General Manager to oversee everyday operations at their Stockton hub. Delta is a charter bus company that runs motorcoaches and school buses around Northern California.

We are looking for a person with at least 5 years of management experience in the transportation industry. We need a personal with strong written and oral communication skills. We need a person with extensive knowledge of the rules surrounding California transportations. Applicants with high-level or general mangement experience in the charter bus industry are preferred.

Key duties

Lead and communicate with department managers on an everyday basis.

Facilitate communication between sales, dispatch, and maintenance, in order to maximize the usage of our fleet.

Maintain satisfaction among our customer base by resolving customer issues, and employing strategies to ensure our buses get to them in a timely manner.

Ensuring compliance of local, state, and federal laws and regulations (OSHA, DoT, CHP, etc.)

Maintaining employee satisfaction and motivation through existing and developed programs

Assisting in sales and maintaining relationships with large clients

Additional Duties

Helping analyze, prepare, and develop budgets for departments

Maintain a safe and respectful work environment company-wide

Responsible for identifying and developing goals and incentives among employees in order to improve results

Maintaining technologies that help with business operations, including wi-fi systems, GPS tracking systems, and softwares utilized to organize dispatch and fleet management.

Resolve disputes and grievances among staff members

Important skillsets

Highly organized and able to approach complex tasks and problems in an organized fashion

At least 5 or more years experience in management in the transportation industry.

Experience with communicating and interacting with reporting via CA DMV, DoT, CHP, California ARB

Knowledge of federal and state employment laws, as they apply to both admin and driving staff

Knowledge of general fleet maintenance schedules

Strong written and oral communication skills.

GED required, Bachelor’s degree in Business Admin, or transportation-related field preferred

Pay: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
