Our client is a 30+ year old, employee owned Third Party Dedicated Logistics provider. Specializing in both assets based and non-asset based transportation services including LTL, FTL, brokerage, and parcel shipping as well as multiple strategically located distribution centers servicing food/beverage, CPG, big box, and chemical clients.

This newly created Director of Transportation position is responsible for asset & non-asset-based transportation operations and profitable growth. Safety & compliance is the backbone of our in-house and partner-carrier operations, coupled with complying with Do It Right® corporate values and objectives. Assess, manage, and improve all things related to Transportation’s People, Processes & Technology.

Role you will play:

· Manages all transportation operations functions to include but not limited to dispatch, customer service, billing, accounts receivable, invoicing, auditing, and safety. Reports to a C-Suite officer, initially being the President & CEO.

· Establish plans & budgets, and report on results, progress, and customer analysis. Assess Our clients’s current approach of managing its own transportation assets and operation along with the current outsourced carriers being used.

· Evaluate and diversify carrier partner relationships.

· Negotiate commercial rate structures and tariffs.

· Assess existing relationships and expand new relationships with carriers, brokers and peers in markets Our clients operates (currently California & Pennsylvania).

· Grow annual gross transportation revenues by 25% per year over during the initial 5-year plan.

· Execute our clients, “One-Touch; One-System; One Team” customer value proposition. Develop a plan to prospect and hunt all existing warehouse customers that ship prepaid freight.

· Assess our legacy Transportation Management System and determine if this system should be a part of the five year objective and plans.

· Ensure all carrier partners are compliant with all regulatory requirements and are accountable for driver management and safety. E

· Ensure our asset-based operations are safe and compliant with the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Basic Inspectionof Terminals (*BIT)*Program.

· Do It Right® by fostering open and honest communication and inspire trust by acting in a fair and respectful manner with all customers and employees.

· Travel as needed to our clients facilities, customers, and other transportation stakeholders.

Requirements and qualifications:

· Transportation and Logistics subject matter expert (SME) with 10+ years of experience.

· Related experience in Third-Party outsourced transportation solution creation and execution

· Proven track record working with transportation management systems (TMS) and operations

· Demonstrated ability to effectively use and deploy MS Office applications including Excel, Word and MS Teams

· Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language. Bilingual Spanish/English skills are a plus
